This Saturday April 4th!
We'll move through Sun Salutations as we mimic the ups and downs of our current weather patterns and really the ups and downs of life. We'll move slowly and mindfully, of course, taking into account ALL the variations that are available to us in yoga in response to your body's need for unique care and well-being.
Sun Salutations are known for raising our inner energy (perfect for this new full moon spring season!) and they are also known for building strength and flexibility (perfect for Yoga for Empowered Aging).
Then, to honor the new full moon, we'll throw in a Moon Salutation as well!
Key Aspects of Therapeutic Yoga
Highly Adaptable: Unlike traditional, one-size-fits-all yoga classes, therapeutic yoga tailors poses to the individual’s physical challenges, often using props for support.
Holistic Healing: It addresses the entire person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just targeting a specific symptom.
Focus on the Nervous System: It aims to reduce cortisol and stress, shifting the body from a "fight-or-flight" response to a calm, restorative state.
Small Movements & Breathing: Techniques include gentle, slow-paced movements (sometimes called small vinyasas) and deep breathing to increase mobility and reduce pain or discomfort.
