There is a new medical certification that (so far) more than 10,000 doctors have received: "Lifestyle Medicine". This new certification trains medical doctors to "treat the whole person"...

Wow. Imagine that!?! 🧐

In this series we'll be covering all 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine, as designated by the American Medical Association. And we will be covering ALL of them in each practice!

This Saturday March 14th!

Key Aspects of Therapeutic Yoga

  • Highly Adaptable: Unlike traditional, one-size-fits-all yoga classes, therapeutic yoga tailors poses to the individual’s physical challenges, often using props for support.

  • Holistic Healing: It addresses the entire person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just targeting a specific symptom.

  • Focus on the Nervous System: It aims to reduce cortisol and stress, shifting the body from a "fight-or-flight" response to a calm, restorative state.

  • Small Movements & Breathing: Techniques include gentle, slow-paced movements (sometimes called small vinyasas) and deep breathing to increase mobility and reduce pain.

This Week in Yoga, I'll allow YOU to pick the "issue" you want addressed.

  • Have some shoulder joints that are yelling at you?

  • Pain in your hips you would like to reduce or make go away?

  • All that and more.

If you send me your issue before this Saturday, I'll be sure to include some movements and poses to assist you in our CommUNITY Yoga practice. If you don't send to me before, you can SHOUT IT OUT! on Saturday and I'll try to include those as well, as time permits.
