Do you eat TEN cups of fruits & veggies every day? If not....smoothie anyone?

eat your vegies

If you're anything like me, you don't now (or maybe ever!) consume the recommended 10 cups of fruit and vegetables every day. It's not that I don't like fruits and veggies - I do! I just can't seem to integrate enough of them in my every day diet. I was thinking about this today and then I ran across a terrific article in Food Revolution Network https://foodrevolution.org/blog/blenders-vs-juicers/?utm_source=sfmc&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=blo-2021&utm_content=juicers-and-blenders on comparing the benefits of blending or juicing.

Short story is - I got motivated. I have owned a Vitamix for at least 15 years now and I love it. I make chocolate protein shakes for lunch at least a couple times a week. However, it has so many more uses for which it never gets used. So. I copied the best sounding recipes from this article, and I'm going to go shopping in the produce section, and make a commitment to improving this part of my diet.

The picture above is one I'm definitely going to try. Not sure if I love it because of the ingredients or that it's purple, but whatever the motivation, right? It's going to be good for me.

I want to include more nutrition topics in my blog so here I go! First one down. I hope you take the time to click on the above link and read the entire article and don't skip the yummy recipes at the end.

Cheers!

Karen
